When I say that I don’t mean bare your soul to the world. I mean write from your gut because, as any voice or public speaking coach will tell you, that is where your voice is. Reach down inside and find that inner voice. The one that doesn’t sound like everyone else.

I know it’s hard, I struggle with myself constantly. Like there’s a little monkey on my shoulder saying “always write like you’re writing an email to your clients”. Which is wrong. Just look at all of the most popular blogs & bloggers. They have a very distinct tone and cadence to the way they write and, of the folks I’ve met, it’s very close to the way they talk.

There’s a reason voice is talked about so much in social media and blogging because it’s what sets you apart.
